Eating the right foods at the right time to support you in reaching your goals!

A balanced meal consists of a combination of lean protein, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates. It is essential to provide your body fundamental nutrition for it to operate at optimum levels. Eating an incomplete meal may provide short-term energy and the experience of feeling full and satisfied, but many of your body’s nutritional requirements may remain unsatisfied.

Here are just some of the ways that the three components of a balance meal support your healthy body.

LEAN PROTEIN

■ Healthy maintenance of lean muscle tissues.
■ Important source for energy production.
■ Provides your body experience of feeling full.

COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATES

■ Your body’s main fuel source.
■ Provides energy for brain functionality.

When you eat healthy foods every 2-3 hours, you’re delivering a consistent flow of calories which results in a more stable level of energy throughout the day.

Eating lean-protein snacks are critical to keeping your metabolism operating at a high rate. Here are some of our favorite suggested snacks.

SUGGESTED SNACKS

• Greek yogurt (it is recommended that the amount of sugar per serving is under 8 grams)
• Dip veggies or fruit into peanut butter or almond butter
• Mozzarella, cheddar or Swiss string cheese
• Almonds, walnuts or Brazilian nuts
• Hard-boiled eggs
• Tuna (instead of mayo, use lemon)
• Hummus

FITNESS PLAN

Research consistently shows that physical activity can help decrease the risk of developing health problems.

In order to support a healthy active lifestyle, a minimum of three fitness sessions per week is suggested. A fitness routine does not need to be extremely intense and rigorous, but in order for it to be complete, the following three fitness types should be part of your routine: Cardiovascular/ Endurance Training, Strength Training and Flexibility Exercises.

CARDIOVASCULAR/ENDURANCE TRAINING

Cardiovascular and endurance training is a great way to increase healthy blood ow throughout your entire body. It’s a great way to work your most important muscle: your heart!

STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training is intended to increase muscle mass, keeping our bodies healthy and strong while also boosting your metabolism and lowering body fat percentage. Weight bearing exercises are also known to improve your bone strength and density.

Flexibility

In today’s society, we spend so much time sitting in front of our computers, and as a result, people are experiencing poor posture and more muscle pulls and strains. Moving and stretching daily can help counter some of the damage caused by our modern, sedentary lifestyle.

Exercises include stretching and yoga.

Nutrition

Making sure that your body is getting the vitamins, minerals, and sufficient protein to properly support you.

Whatever health and fitness goals you would like to achieve, nutritional supplementation is a key component. It’s helpful to supplement your diet to ensure that you’re getting enough protein to help build and maintain lean mass. Also, when you’re exercising, you’re putting more stress on your body than just the average person, so to get into tip top shape, it helps to have complete nutrition.
